| The Coca-Cola Company challenged us to think out of the box and develop a new generation of soda vending machines. The team began its endeavor with an informal research of contemporary vending machines. We discovered the obvious. The automatic (soda) retailing industry primarily encompasses tall oversized rectangular boxes which showcase large back-lit promotional graphics. For decades consumers have come to expect both the location and the appearance of such machines. With this general knowledge base we created unconventional, sculptural and distinctively Coca-Cola branded vending machines. |
To contrast existing machines, we focused on incorporating new materials. Translucent green polymers, for instance, are evocative of the green contoured bottle, while they expose the inner workings of the machine. The team also wanted to exploit the influence of scale, shape and form of minimal sculptures. A few of the concepts attempt to engage all fives senses by integrating mists, lights, video and audio elements for a more compelling brand experience. |
