Coca-Cola: Times Square Sign

"As the company whose design was chosen by our blue-ribbon selection committee (consisting of focus groups, company senior management, and the New York Museum of Modern Art) as being the most desirable among the many submissions received, your firm can be very proud of its achievement."

The Coca-Cola Company invited 15 noted design firms to reinvent the famous but dated Coke sign in Times Square. We created a dramatic sculptural statement by deconstructing Coca-Cola's dynamic ribbon device. Each section of the sculpture is comprised of a unique curved LED panel, each capable of displaying its own image or contributing to an oversize image canvasing all panels. Today the sign continues to meld high art with high tech to create a bold, modern and youthful statement of Coca-Cola's worldwide leadership in the marketplace. Since the lighting ceremony in July 2004, the sign has been featured in countless television shows, televised events and feature films.
